So, when I've had enough of Melvyn Bragg and the intelligent conversation I go looking for other things to fill the quietude.

I mean, it takes a perverse form of Genius to see things the way he does, and to persist in the face of Ricky Gervais (The most annoying laugh ever) and Stephen Merchant's intolerable baiting and derision. And - to make matters worse - occasionally he gets matters right, or close enough, but they're having none of it. Absolutely hilarious.

A new podcast (to me, it's been around forever), interesting, the irritable and generally not-as-well informed host directs a panel of experts on a variety of topics in which he has a skirting familiarity and virtually no expertise. The Kootenays is full of self-proclaimed experts on drugs, which is why it's good to get a second opinion. Thoughtful, reasonable discussion on various drugs from cocaine, psychedelics, MDMA to methamphetamines, sugar, alcohol and caffeine, their effects and side-effects, in a non-judgmental but informative way.

Up inking drawings, my time off from the restaurant hopefully well spent, and as inking drawings is pretty boring I play podcasts in the background. Radiolab, This American Life, etc.
And I discover this one: I am not a Pirate (Link: https://www.thisamericanlife.org/616/i-am-not-a-pirate) - The Prologue, the tale of Stede Bonnet and Edward Teach (AKA Blackbeard). It's Hilarious. I mean, how is this not a movie? Every bit as entertaining as Pirates of the Caribbean, only this really happened. 5 Stars.
