Making big plans for summer, and in this department there's lots to be done. I mean LOTS. And here - with a few carefully worded queries - the internet becomes interesting again.
Really, it's been about 2 years, probably more, since I went deep into the topic, in which time there have been dozens of new maps uploaded, updated, and I'm finding new information with every turn of the shovel.
The death of Oil and Gas has spelled a new boom in prospecting the province, looking at other opportunities, and the information, largely, is online and free to search..
Good. And the weather, outside, almost good enough, if only I'd packed my shovel and pans back from Nelson, but that's only a day trip away, and I might just have to make it, and when boredom overwhelms me I go online and searching, planning the summers riches...

Now really, all these algorithms tailored to my tastes, youtube, newsfeeds, and despite this, or maybe because of this, the internet has become a boring place. Nothing. Nothing, nothing, nothing. Read the news daily, surf about the net, there's really nothing that catches my eye, makes me think, inspires me, and I've come to the conclusion that it's been hijacked by tedious corporate interests, the meat of it is more digging than I have time for, and I don't have a date, but it's definite, it's certain, that it's become an increasingly dreary place. I need to find something interesting here or I'll go mad...

And so, exhausted after a long days job hunt and weird dreams about being pursued by a T-Rex, I woke up and tried to mitigate it with some Gorgonzola cheese, a pot of coffee and a dozen Russell Brand videos on YouTube.
Which woke me up, a little too much, as I was unable to sleep all night, ragged dreams and restless.
I don't recommend this.

Digging through the locker, the first trove of old photos, scanned into the computer.
And there was this one:

Which, at a guess, taken 2001. I'm always amazed when people recognize me on the street, year to year I don't even recognize myself.
