I've been searching for this book for over 20 years. And - finally, because of course I'd find it here:

I mean, I've listened to enough of his lectures, and read it online, but - like any try Bibliophile, wanted a hard copy. Now for an older, un-edited edition.
On that note I found this as well - at a thrift shop, and - while an easy read, it covers a lot of topics I find of interest from a variety of perspectives:

Just take my word for it, sell them at the Apple shop and buy a PC. If they do Android PC's then do that, fuck Windows too.
Afternoons spent at the Library, following the directions given me by bro. to update the MacBrick Air.
It takes about an hour to download, then another hour to install. You hang on screens for an hour, then it reboots, then again, then again, and you get the:
This minute remaining, this is the minute alone I want to spend with your wife. This is the same minute the Mormons and Jehovah Witnesses need to tell you all about God. This is the minute of your time to answer a few short questions about...
This is the minute Einstein took to come up with his theory of relativity. In other words, it's never a minute, never has been, never will.
Finally, Big Sur, and then it's telling me I need Sonoma, another day, another trip to the library (free Wifi), another hour downloading, installing, perpetually rebooting, then finally, Sonoma, green hills and vineyards of California, only - wait - the screensaver disappears, and the wifi icon has gone dark.
I've just downloaded a shit-pile of new problems. And I'm just about done, this dream of having a single decent working laptop - well, it's maybe just a dream or maybe it's time I got real and swapped my MacBrick Air - take the cash from the local Mac Dealer, and just buy a decent PC. I mean, I have a decent PC as well, only I was hoping to get rid of that too...
Too much technology, all these things that purport to do the same thing - the MacBrick, coming in at an enviable 12 GB OS and 120 GB memory, that would have been enough...
But nope, nope, nope. And this HP Scream, not nearly enough anything, stop motion YouTube and I've never even tried it on Porn.
And the other PC, a Lenovo, a brick as well, too big for this apartment, and given the market for used PC's I might as well donate it and be done with it. 3 computers, not one of them can give me everything I want, and I'm hardly that demanding, I'm getting to the point where I'm thinking women might be easier...

I've made relatively no garage sales this year. None. Or close enough to.
Blame it on the thrift shop, on tidying my apartment, on - really, let's be truthful, there's enough on my plate.
Plenty enough.
But Saturday, well, I still need a shovel, pick, some gold pans, so head out, find what I can.
And, sure enough:

2 Gold pans. Small, but they'll suffice until I find bigger. (only one shown, they're stacked) (3 Stolen last year, and a classifier)

From top to bottom - headlamp (for mines & underground spaces. And, oh yeah, raves. I had 4 that were stolen last year from the car.
Middle - a weigh scale, good to 1/10 of a gram. For gold. Small quantities of gold. Or MDMA, but I need it for gold.
Bottom right, compass.
Total Cost: $5.00
***
Add to that some paints, acrylic, brushes, total $10.00, value maybe $50, and I'm set. If I had a vehicle I'd do this more regularly, there are treasures to be had for sure...

This morning, cafe, no Mark, but it's full, Big City Blonde and her coterie and I'm sat next to Loon.
I've mentioned her before, never spoken a word to her but trawled Facebook and discovered her postings.
Wing-Nut extraordinaire.
So, after watching her struggle with her phone for a bit and then cycle off, in a mood, and I'm never sure where the line between mental illness and just crazy begins.
But now, at the library, 11 minutes to go on the Apple and I trawl her Facebook again. She's posting more of her remedies:

The parasites, of course, are her intrusive thoughts, and while I'm sure if you drank enough turpentine they'd go away I'm not sure that's the cure anyone is looking for...
