I liked this. Spelunking - underground, references to Greek Mythology, Some corollaries with rites of initiation, the subconscious...we've a similar cast of mind, only the author is a little more articulate.
I've come to a few conclusions. Anything underground is subconscious. And very often it's part of the larger mythology of death and rebirth - Orpheus and Theseus, to go underground is to die and be reborn, and we share a few of the same conclusions...

An article in the Atlantic that speculates upon animals and consciousness. Not that I have any doubt, but it gives some interesting examples with amusing human correlations - for examples, fruit flies, when faced with "dim mating prospects", will seek out alcohol, and trout have been observed fake orgasms to presumably divert the sperm of inadequate suitors...

Increasingly common, as you - the consumer, really don't have any right to expect anything. And "Fool you once" is plenty enough for a lot of companies to make a great living.

Actually, I've served enough of them to know just how true this is. There should be a process whereby countries rescind passports of citizens not judged likely to be great ambassadors.

I've met a very few civilized ones, but the majority should be kept home on short leashes. On that note, why, why do we still have the Queen on our currency? What year is this? Time maybe, given the diversity of our culture, to stop paying homage to the past and look towards embracing the present.
