In the UK some Tank restorers find an unexpected bonus while restoring an Iraqi Tank.

They of course do the right thing and report it to the Police, but not before weighing it and getting an accurate receipt. Quite possibly the happiest thing I've seen all week.
Note, though, how at 4:09 - while there's more to be found ("I don't care what anybody says we only found 5...") they only weigh up the 5 to turn over to the Police.
...
Hopefully they get to keep the proceeds - (debatable) - but if there are any more it's good insurance against criminal bureaucracy. Now - imagine - how much is found and not recorded or reported, merely melted down and sold a little bit at a time and added to the pocket...

Note the price per Carat for the Rough diamonds - bit of a mark-up for something that's usually finished and cut in India.

With Spring seemingly hidden behind an impenetrable wall of rain, here's a couple of stories that'll keep me going...
#1) Sierra Leone pastor discovers 706-carat diamond in village
The punch line is when the Pastor gives it to the President. Uh-huh. I somehow just can't imagine it's going to do any good, but that's just my opinion...

and the second story, a 14 year old kid finds a 7.6 Carat diamond at "Crater of Diamonds" State park in Arkensas, the seventh largest diamond found there since 1972.
Presumably he couldn't find any high-ranking government officials to give it to because he decided to keep it.
