And they've been and painted the deck today, in the process trampling and laying waste to all the flowers I've carefully planted and nurtured these past several months.
The condo board.
The deck, or front porch, a dull, flat, uniform grey, exactly like every one of the other neighbors. I tried ornamenting it with brightly coloured Tibetan Prayer Flags, but received notice to take them down, and so now it's just like every one else's. And the flower garden, well, we'll give it a few days and see, the neighbors dandelions and weeds have been carefully trod around, mine own have been crushed and trammeled underfoot.

And the police stand idly by. "They had a plan", they assure the media, but the plan didn't save any property, the plan was to wait for a more peaceful demonstration (like the G20) before flexing their might and waving their truncheons.
The only solace - so many photographs taken that every one of the instigators is clearly visible - caught - as it were - in the act of tipping cars, breaking windows and looting shops. So there shouldn't be much trouble rounding them all up and putting them on trial - yet another expense for the taxpayer.

Bad enough that you've rented the DVD or you're in the theater and you're forced to watch annoying ads and trailers for movies and products that you'd never, ever want to see or buy.
But when you go to watch a trailer - in this instance Super 8, directed by J.J. Abrams and you're forced to watch an ad. For a trailer.
Undoubtedly it's just me, I must be crazy. On the off chance that this annoys you as much as it annoys me, maybe we could suggest to Hollywood that they simply provide us with the movie we paid for, skip the ads, and maybe the ad-free piracy will relent, just a little. Maybe if they abused us just that little bit less....
