First Dream: That a friend was returning some coats I had given him for dry cleaning (dark skinned, I recognize him - ??? - who?- in the dream as a friend), and I see upon one of my blue suit jackets what appears to be a little white bedbug, and I'm handing them back to him, this won't do, and now do I have to change all my clothes, bedding? And did he dry clean them in the first place and if he did why in the heck are there bedbugs on it?
To this he just shrugs, not his problem, it's no big deal...
Second Dream: That I am in Vietnam with my family, not Vietnam with not-my-family, it's someplace else, a dreamscape, the colors too pastel, the grass the plastic kind you see in Bento boxes, when up from the grass there rises a green viper, it strikes me on the leg, but, surprisingly it doesn't bother me, I examine the wound, bite marks, what looks like plasma running down...
Across the river there's an kindly older Vietnamese lady who's showing me some large old coins, the busts of king or politicians on one side, the rest of the coin is worn away, just the busts, rococo stylized swirls of fabric, and I resolve to take a few of these with me as souvenirs

I'm in a house high up on a forested mountain. The basement, an empty disused tiled pool that spirals upstairs...I don't think to try and figure out how the pool keeps level, accepting that it spirals up over a couple of floors...
Upstairs, a dark paneled room, there's a museum or art exhibit of sorts, curiosities, books with leather-tooled custom bindings done in the fantastical shapes of demons heads and gargoyles. Opening them they're like the "Codex Seriphinianus", an inventory of colors, shapes, writing in foreign languages, they're all puzzles, riddles wrapped up in enigmas and mystery...
The objects are as well curious, of no discernable function or purpose, this resembles an orrery, but isn't, this a compass, or globe, but not, and so forth. Everything beautifully done, but inexplicable. Somehow I think that maybe it all explains itself...
Outside a cool fall day.
Discussing with the other visitors I find that the owners of this curated collection of absurdities explained it all the night before, at the gala opening, I missed it, but - somehow I think I know them - and I'm thinking of this bigger goth couple that would show up and buy my curiosities for sale in Calgary, these must be the people hosting this...

..that I'm with a partner and another couple and we're in the basement of the Banff Springs - Not Banff Springs Hotel. We're all walking together, deep, deep in the roots of the earth, admiring the sunless architecture. Grand halls after grand rooms and more grand halls. Everywhere there are mice, hundreds, thousands of them, this is no place to eat, we'll wait until we get up higher in the castle or labyrinth...
We split from the other couple, they have they're own things to do, and find a room lit with a lightbulb to spend the night.
The next day, wandering up, up, we meet them again, they have all this green slime food on the floor in the dining room, and the man is commanding his disciples to eat it off the floor, they're all his slaves, peculiar sexual undertones...
I want no part of it, I'm leaving the hotel, my girlfriend, she's hesitant, doesn't want to leave, lingering, she wants to join the cult...
(girlfriend was an unknown, didn't know her at all, as were the other people. Peculiar, disconcerting dream...)

Sleeping on my bench. Woken at 2:00 AM by some drunk (probably British) backpacker looking for someplace to sleep after the bar. I growl loudly and she beats it.
I wake 3 or 4 times a night, it's cold - coldest about 5:00 AM, but I have to remain warm all curled in my sleeping bag. Today will be dentist first, then thrift shop.
I'm in the thrift (but not the same, not the same at all...) shop, it's much smaller, tidier since they've had their sale. Everything is tidy, there's no over-abundance of junk. I find in one of the glass cases a couple of sets of antique brass binoculars, and I'm trying them out, they're kind of funny, the end where the lenses should be are covered in brass and I'm just looking through them, puzzling over their purpose, are they a periscope of sorts? But looking through them I can see just fine, and I'm trying to zoom in...
